Description of decoration ![]() | Regarding the frescoes, only 4 medallions with the images of the evangelists are preserved nowadays. The iconostasis was repainted. It has 3 doors and 5 horizontal decorative tiers which (as well as the Royal Gates) are embellished with a decorative woodcarving - the work of craftsmen from the region of Debar. The ten icons of the Sovereign tier were done by 4 icon-painters in 1835 and in the second half of 19th c. Some of those on the Apostle’s tier (82 pieces in two rows) were supposedly painted by Toma Vishanov.
The church preserves 4 icons: “Christ the Almighty”, “St. John the Baptist”, “St. Nicolas” and “St. Theodor Tiron”, which were taken from “The Dormition of the Virgin Mary” church that is now in ruins situated around 400 m to the southwest. | |||||
